Cancer Victory Medal

Spreading the word of Survivorship
There is clearly a need for an awakening of National awareness of cancer survivorship. We already know how cancer kills. What is far more important is for the public to recognize that people do, indeed, achieve total remissions from any and all forms of cancer. Unfortunately, these “Miracle” survivors receive little more attention in the halls of medicine than do the corpses and this attitude must change.

Hero or Victim?
One continually hears of some particular individual being a “Hero” in the cancer war. Tragic and sad as it may be, this normally refers to someone who was a good patient, obeyed all the doctors orders and simply “Failed the treatment”, as this result is often described in the grim, cold parlance of cancer research. Baloney! The patient did not fail the treatment, the treatment failed the patient. From this standpoint, they are not heroes, just victims. The hero term is usually applied to some celebrity when, in point of fact, the celebrity is not a hero, just a victim, along with over a thousand anonymous others who die every day of this disease.

The Real Heroes
No, the real heroes are those anonymous few who simply will not accept the death sentence but chose, instead, to take charge of their healing program and fight their way back to remission after receiving the death sentence. These heroes have won a battle with the worst killer ever to plague the Earth and they deserve recognition, not anonymity. In the fast moving world of today, remission represents a re-awakening of life for the patient but, fortunately, or unfortunately depending on the point of view, the ending of cash flowfor others who stand to profit from the disease. This program looks at life, not death.

The Cancer Victory Medal
It is for this reason that the cancer medal has been struck. It is for those remarkable people who have used the resources inherent in a well orchestrated program of mind/body medicine to grab life from the jaws of death. Patients with Metastatic disease, after treatments have failed, often find themselves in the position of being told they have only a few more months to live and prepare for death. This sets the stage for those brave enough, willing enough and mad enough to get busy with a program of victory! The cancer medal is not affiliated with any governmental agency or cancer support organization. It has been commissioned by a few individuals who are justifiably proud of their fight against odds and are frustrated by a general lack of interest on the part of those living off the disease who should be interested. It is to be worn with pride, not for publicity, but as an outward sign to all of those in their neighborhood who are faced with this life of death issue, particularly those whose hope has been taken from them by a sometimes insensitive medical system that typically deals in the cold and heartless language of statistics. Like our nations highest battle honor, The Congressional Medal of Honor, it is not worn to support fundraising, but to honor a most significant achievement and to give hope and inspiration to others in the fight. Anyone who fits the above description is invited to apply to this website to receive, free of charge, one of these medals. By wearing it, you will show to the world that it is possible!!!

YOU CAN DEFEAT CANCER.
